Watermelon Carving | Watermelon Bowl

Watermelons are abundant in market, making it my first choice of fruit. There are a dozen 579287_4104387417521_23246632_n - Copyof different ways to include this nutritious food in your diet.

Here is a simple watermelon Carving idea to make a serving bowl.

For making this bowl, I marked the half-moon around both ends, then cut a big rectangle out keeping the cut lines a little away from corner half moons. Also, the connecting lines between the both ends should be an inch higher than your desired bowl height.

Once you have some working space (with the central rectangle gone), clean out the ends. As last step, mark triangle cuts to create the ridge. After you have the desired shape, scoop out the watermelon using melon baller or just cut the flesh using checker marks. Once the bowl is empty, Fill it in with scooped out watermelon balls, watermelon pieces, or any other fruit mix for your unique fruit salad. Serve immediately. If you are prepping ahead of time then cover your melon bowl with a cling wrap and refrigerator until served.

I especially like the fact that I can store this in refrigerator for couple of hours before serving and this beautiful bowl will act as a cooler for my salad. 🙂 Happy carvings!
