Granny square slippers

I love crochet! No doubt about that.. no siree! But when it comesGranny Square Slippers to small project vs big project, I am more likely to pick small ones. Call it ADD or need for instance gratification, it’s just plain simple truth. Starting a new project and to be able to finish up in just few days (or maybe just a weekend) is a wonderful feeling. May be this was one of the many reasons I took on this project.  These granny square slippers are quick and easy and a great gift for anyone. Just tweak the colors and you can make tons of variations. Warm comfy sleepers made from yarn are sure gonna be one of  your favorite crochet projects.

I love the feeling when someone actually use what I created. Making something with practical use is much more satisfying than a ‘show piece’ (at least for me).  I gave away these two pairs to my father and elder sister. 🙂

So farGranny Square Slippers I took on only one big crochet project, a afghan for my MIL. It turned out beautifully and filled me with great pride. A person like me, who cannot concentrate on one thing for long, finally completed a project (though it took almost a year). Probably I will share it soon.

I found these beautiful granny square slippers while surfing for ideas to start my second crochet project (I made a beautiful cowl scarf for myself as my first proper crochet project). The pattern is very well described and easy to follow along.

I made these last year, writing this post refreshed the memory and excitement. I am tempted to start another pair may be for myself. Ah! I should have thought about it in winters, California summers will not let me get anywhere near wool. I better do some other long overdue projects.

Hope you liked the color combination I used for these slippers. Don’t forget to share your experience and feedback with me.

Happy Crocheting 🙂

Cute ideas! I’m going to try this out when I’m done with final exams! I think I have a bunch of completely useless granny squares lying around somewhere in my room. 🙂

Good Luck with your granny square slippers. I want to make a granny square cushion cover and bed cover, but couldn’t decide on colors 😦
